Vacant posts of lecturers in varsities to be filled in a phased manner: Panel chief

Academic restructuring and a unified education system have been implemented in the universities, said Karnataka Higher Education Board vice-chairman Prof S.R. Niranjan, who is also former vice-chancellor of Gulbarga University.

Inaugurating a one-day workshop on ‘Academic and Administrative Leadership in Higher Education Institutions’, organised by the Internal Quality Assurance Cell of the Gulbarga University for the development of professionalism under the Pradhan Mantri Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan scheme on Monday, Prof. Niranjan said, to overcome the shortage of lecturers in the universities of the state (including Gulbarga University), the Chief Minister has already agreed to fill the vacancies of professors’ posts in a phased manner. He said that the recruitment process will begin in the coming days.
