Outsourced employees demand salary, job security

The cooks, helpers, cleaners, security guards, D-group attenders, computer operators, data entry operators working on outsourcing basis in the government hostels and residential schools under the banner of Karnataka State Hostel and Residential Schools Outsourcing Employee Association staged a protest at Suvarna Garden near Suvarna Vidhana Soudha (SVS) on Wednesday demanding to fulfil their various demands that also included minimum wage Rs 31,000 per month.
The outsourcing employees urged, "We are working without job security in the hostels and schools for the past several years, and we are being continuously harassed by the wardens, contractors, taluk and district level officers. This must stop."
