Former MLC slams Congress govt for withholding aided teachers' salaries

STRONGLY criticising Congress government for issuing orders to withhold the salaries of aided school teachers and headmasters whose SSLC result has dropped below 60%, Former MLC and BJP leader Arun Shahapur has said that the decision is arbitrary and against the interest of aided schools of the State.
"The government has taken the decision only to target the aided schools and not to government school teachers. The double-standard is not acceptable. If you want to take action against the teachers for low performance in SSLC, then it should be applied even to the government teachers," he said.
Addressing media on Friday, he said that the aided schools are already burdened due to shortage of full-time staff.
