Belagavi Liquor Merchants Seek Policy Reforms, Profit Margin Hike

MEMBERS of the Belagavi Liquor Merchants Association submitted a detailed memorandum to Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Roshan, urging the state government to implement a series of reforms aimed at sustaining the liquor retail business in the region, in Belagavi on Friday.
At the forefront of their demands is the request for a minimum 20 per cent profit margin on retail liquor sales.
The association emphasised that despite a steady increase in the number of licensed outlets, there has been no significant rise in liquor sales in recent years, placing pressure on retailers.
