Activist Urges Govt to Act Against MLA Chavan

He also warns that if action is not taken against Chavan, a bandh will be observed in Bidar soon

SOMNATH Mudholkar, the leader of the Kannada pro-organisation alliance, demanded that the government take appropriate action against Prabhu Chavan, who has been the Aurad (B) reserved MLA since 2008 and has usurped all the rights of Kannadigas by preparing fake caste certificates and recovering all the government benefits he has received so far.

Addressing a press conference at the zilla patrika bhavan here on Tuesday, he said that Chavan is originally from Maharashtra and has used his influence to obtain Scheduled Caste certificates for himself and his family members through the local tehsildar and cheated Kannadigas. Despite filing objections in several appellate authorities and courts in this regard, he has used his influence to get the application withdrawn there too.
