Net direct tax revenue falls 1.34% to ₹5.63 lakh cr on higher refunds

NET direct tax revenue declined 1.34% to nearly ₹5.63 lakh crore till July 10 of the current financial year due to higher refunds, as per the government data released on Friday.
The Net corporate tax collection declined 3.67% to nearly ₹2 lakh crore, from ₹2.07 lakh crore in the year-ago period. Non-corporate tax (including individuals, HUFs and firms) revenue stood flat at ₹3.45 lakh crore between April 1 and June 10, 2025. Securities transaction tax (STT) collection was ₹17,874 crore till July 10. Total net collections stood at ₹5.63 lakh crore, a decline of 1.34% over ₹5.70 lakh crore collected in the year-ago period.
