Draft UGC regulations undermine rights of states, KTR tells Centre

BRS working president KT Rama Rao called on Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan in Delhi on Thursday and requested him to restore the role of state governments in appointment of university vice-chancellors to uphold federal principles.
The former minister also met Union Road Transport & Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari and requested him to extend the Vemulawada-Korutla national highway.
Rama Rao submitted a formal letter to the Union government outlining the views of the BRS on the proposed changes to University Grants Commission (UGC) regulations.
