Over 60K acres of forest diverted under FRA

FOREST, Environment and Ecology Minister Eshwar B Khandre on Tuesday said so far, 60,032 acres of forest land have been diverted under the Forest Rights Act (FRA).
He said, so far 14,132 applications and 16,685 cases under FRA have been approved. Around 2,55,000 applications (95%) were rejected. He also informed that new applications continue to pour in and district-level committees will soon be held to hear them.
