RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat on Wednesday reiterated the claim that Maharana Pratap, the Rajput ruler of the Kingdom of Mewar, had emerged victorious in the 1576 Battle of Haldighati.
Addressing a gathering at the Maharana Bhupal Stadium in Udaipur during an event marking the 450th anniversary of the battle between the forces of Maharana Pratap and the Mughal army led by Man Singh I on behalf of Emperor Akbar, Bhagwat said attempts had been made for centuries to distort Indian history. He maintained that there should be no doubt about Maharana Pratap’s victory in the battle.
