Maternal deaths: Govt will ensure education of kids of deceased, says panel chief

NAGALAKSHMI Choudhary, chairperson, Karnataka State Commission for Women, said that the state government will provide all facilities, including education, to the children of the five women, who died at Ballari Institute of Medical Sciences (BIMS) in a span of one month.
The five maternal deaths had sent shockwaves across the state.
Nagalakshmi visited the homes of the deceased in Ballari city and taluk and met their family members. She also visited BIMS Hospital and spoke to patients who are undergoing treatment.
The five deaths are said to have taken place after the patients were administered a banned Intravenous Fluid (IV).
