In a first, Krishi Mela to see facial recognition cameras

The authorities of the University of Agricultural Sciences (UAS) in Dharwad have initiated the installation of facial recognition cameras to facilitate the digital registration of farmers attending Krishi Mela.

In addition, a QR Code system has been introduced to assist farmers, NGOs, and the general public in confirming their attendance and obtaining participation certificates. These enhancements represent a novel approach for the mela.

For many years, the mela relied on a traditional physical registration system. At the entrance, farmers would enroll their attendance manually. However, many farmers expressed dissatisfaction with this system due to its time-consuming nature, and there were instances when the registration teams struggled to manage the influx of visitors.
