Helmets mandatory for rider, pillion in Ballari dist

ALL two-wheeler riders in Ballari district must wear helmets without exception, according to a strict directive issued by District Superintendent of Police (SP) Shobha Rani V J.
The SP said that under the Indian Motor Vehicles Act, 1989, and Karnataka Motor Vehicle Rules, it is mandatory for both the rider and the pillion rider of a motorcycle to wear helmets for their safety.
