Cascades come alive at British-era check dam

These cascades meander through Tamragundi & other villages before joining Tungabhadra river in Mundargi taluk

INCESSANT rains have revitalised cascades at a check dam constructed during the British colonial period. These cascades are located on the outskirts of Mevundi village, near Mundargi. Water from Petalur, Jantli Shirur, and Hallikere is overflowing, creating a series of picturesque waterfalls.

The cascades meander through Tamragundi and various other villages before ultimately joining the Tungabhadra River within Mundargi taluk.

The revival of these cascades has delighted numerous farmers, as they travel through many settlements and have helped augment underground water levels. However, the ephemeral nature of such cascades necessitates that locals inform others about their existence.
