The force signs contract with local firm for buying Elbit rocket system under emergency clause
THE Indian Army has signed a contract with indigenous defence manufacturer Nibe to procure equipment and ammunition for its Universal Rocket Launcher Systems. This move is part of the Army’s long-term plan to strengthen its deep and quick strike capabilities.
Sources confirmed that the order is for the Israel-manufactured Puls (Precise & Universal Launching System), produced by Elbit Systems. “The procurement is being done under the Emergency Procurement (EP) route,” the source added. The order will be executed and delivered in tranches within 12 months.
