A priest and two of his associates have been booked by revenue police in Uttarakhand's Pauri Garhwal district after they locked the temple upon learning that a scheduled caste woman's wedding was to be held there.

Recognising the sensitivity of the case as it involved caste discrimination, authorities transferred the investigation to the civil police. The incident came to light after the priest reportedly locked the place of 'Yagna kund' to prevent the wedding ceremony from taking place. Following the revelation, local authorities sprang into action to address the situation and uphold the rights of the community involved.
