TRINAMOOL Congress Chairperson and Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Thursday indicated that her party would primarily bank on the controversies raised over the SIR and Bangla to campaign for the 2026 Assembly election.
Celebrating 'World Tribal Day' at an event in Jhargram in western West Bengal, she said, "If anyone asks you to fill up forms, please do not do so without awareness. They will remove your names from the voter lists and hand an NRC notice to you. We will not tolerate it. It is a plan of the Centre, and they will verify the names on the voter list.
