KOLKATA Knight Riders' top-order gave them a blazing start but the middle order failed to capitalise on it as they posted 204 for nine against Delhi Capitals in an IPL match here on Tuesday.
In reply, DC came close to chasing down the target but fell short by 14 runs.
DC opener Faf du Plessis set the tone with a 45-ball 62, but he had little support from the other end. Axar Patel did his bid with a quickfire 43 from 23 balls but once they both fell, it all came down crashing. In the end, Vipraj Nigam's late effort was not enough.
