HC to BDA: Draw plan for eviction, demolition

THE Karnataka High Court directed the Bengaluru Development Authority (BDA) commissioner to prepare a plan for eviction and demolition of ABlock of Platinum City in Peenya, put up by Sheriff Constructions, and ensure the project complies with the applicable building bylaws.

Justice Suraj Govindaraj passed the interim order on the petition filed by Sheriff Constructions in 2013, seeking direction to BDA to issue the occupation certificate for Blocks A to G, constructed by it on property bearing Sy. No. 47 and 48 of Peenya village of Yeshwantpur hobli in Bengaluru North taluk.
The court noted that the petitioner, having violated the plan sanction and thereafter having undertaken to demolish the building, has come up with the contention that demolition would cause structural instability.
