"Internal committee didn't perform its duty"
IN a setback for IAF Wing Commander PK Sehrawat facing sexual assault charges, the Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh High Court has quashed two orders issued by the Budgam Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) and directed the Special Investigation Team (SIT) to continue the investigation against the officer. Sehrawat has been accused of sexual harassment and rape by a woman Flying Officer.
Annulling the CJM orders, Justice Javed Iqbal Wani ruled that Section 124 of the Air Force Act, 1950, can only be invoked after the completion of the probe and filing of a police report or charge sheet.
