BC Welfare, Handlooms and Textiles Minister S Savitha, along with Industries, Commerce and Food Processing Minister TG Bharath and Law and Minority Welfare Minister NMD Farooq laid the foundation stone for an MSME Park at Banavasi village in Yemmiganur mandal, Kurnool district, on Tuesday.
After which Savitha described the occasion as the dawn of a 'golden era for weavers,' under the leadership of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu. She highlighted the government's commitment to the hand-loom sector through a range of welfare measures, including free electricity—500 units for power looms and 200 for handlooms, a ₹348 crore allocation for sectoral development, and the launch of monthly exhibitions and cluster-based infrastructure.
