BACK when England toured India in the winter of 2016, one photo from the dressing room went viral on Twitter (now X). Haseeb Hameed, little finger on the left hand in a cast after breaking it during the third Test at Mohali, had met Virat Kohli.

Haseeb Hameed, little finger on the left hand in a cast after breaking it during the third Test at Mohali, had met Virat Kohli. One particular caption, tongue firmly in cheek, had said 'world's greatest batsman with Kohli'. Hameed, nicknamed 'Baby Boycs' had already impressed with his technique. In England's second innings of the third Test, Hameed, with a fracture, fought through the pain to compile a gutsy, unbeaten 156-ball 59.

Odisha tiger population likely to go up: PCCF
ODISHA’S big cat numbers seem to be ona rise with the ongoing All India Tiger Estimate (AITE) 2026 exercise identifying 32 unique individual tigers in Similipal Tiger Reserve (STR) this year. PCCF (wildlife) Prem Kumar Jha said on Tuesday that Similipal has recorded a rise in its tiger count since the previous AITE exercise in 2022 in which the tiger population in the state was pegged at 20. Following AITE 2022, the Odisha government had carried out its own tiger estimation in 2023-24 which had put the state’s tiger count at 30 including 27 in STR.
