Violence erupts in Nagpur amid rumours of holy book burning

VIOLENCE erupted in central Nagpur on Monday after members of Hindu outfits, including the Vishva Hindu Parishad and the Bajrang Dal held a protest seeking the removal of Mughal emperor Aurangzeb's tomb in Sambhaji Nagar.
Clashes broke out after rumours spread that the holy book of Islam was burnt during the protest by members of the Right-wing groups. Four people were injured in the clashes. Tension gripped the area as vehicles were set ablaze and stones were pelted.
Muslim groups alleged that a cloth with 'kalmas' on it was burnt during the protest. However, the local police dismissed the claim as just a rumour.
