Step up campaign on TB elimination in correctional homes & jails, states told
January 10, 2025
|The Morning Standard
TO eliminate tuberculosis (TB) from India by 2025, the Centre has written to all the states and the Union Territories to organise an intensive 100-day campaign on TB eradication in prisons and correctional facilities across the country.
The Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) letter comes following the Centre's announcement of a 100-day TB elimination campaign to enhance detection of TB cases, reduce diagnostic delays, and improve treatment outcomes, particularly in high-risk groups. The campaign was launched by Union health minister JP Nadda on December 7, 2024.
