Print media ad rates may go up by 27%, notification after Bihar polls

AS part of its major infinitives to safeguard conventional media, the government has proposed to increase advertisement rates for print media by 27%.

According to the government sources, all preparations are in place and an announcement in this regard is expected next month after the Bihar assembly election results. Packages are also being revised for television channels.

“We have taken a decision to increase the advertisement rates by 27%; it was demanded for all the print media. Soon after Bihar elections, a notification will be issued. This is part of the government’s efforts to strengthen conventional media,” said sources.

The advertisement rates were last revised in 2019 when the ministry of information and broadcasting increased them by 25%. Before that, an increase of 19% was announced in 2013.
