Kejriwal moves SC against arrest by CBI

DELHI Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday knocked the doors of the Supreme Court challenging his arrest by the CBI in connection with the excise policy case.
The CBI arrested him on June 26.
Kejriwal was already being granted bail by the apex court on July 12 in the same case but being investigated by the Enforcement Directorate (ED).
Senior lawyer Abhishek Manu Singhvi and Chander Uday Singh, appearing for Kejriwal, mentioned the matter for an urgent listing before the bench led by Chief Justice of India D Y Chandrachud.
In his plea, Kejriwal termed his "arrest by the CBI as illegal" and sought quashing of the case.
