The jump is due to rise in gold reserves by $2.1 bn and foreign currency assets by $2.5 bn
IN a week when the rupee plunged to its lowest level of 88.47 (on Sept 11), forex reserves rose to near record high, crossing the $700 billion mark for the third time.
The forex reserve rose by $4.7 billion in the week-ending September 12. The reserves closed the week to September 12 at $702.97 billion, just shy of the record peak of $704.9 billion reached in the week to September 27, 2024.
