EC: Arrangements done for counting of votes in Andhra

ALL set for the counting of votes for the polls held to the 175 Assembly and 25 Parliament seats amid tight security in the wake of the post-poll violence that rocked parts of Palnadu region, Tirupati and Tadipatri in the faction-ridden Rayalaseema region.

EC: Arrangements done for counting of votes in Andhra

Addressing media on the arrangements made for counting of votes across the State, Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Mukesh Kumar Meena said counting of votes will commence at 8 a.m. A total of 401 counting halls were set up at 33 counting locations. He informed that 2,443 EVM tables and 443 Postal ballot tables were arranged for Parliamentary constituencies.

For Assembly constituencies, a total of 2,446 EVM tables and 557 Postal ballot tables were arranged.

The keenly contested battle saw an intense campaign by the ruling YSRC and the NDA partners TDP, BJP and Jana Sena Party (JSP).
