Del-Leh AI flight aborts take-off, airline cites 'unforeseen situation'

PASSENGERS faced a difficult time on Sunday during the long weekend as two Air India flights aborted take-off — one due to a technical glitch detected by the pilots and the other because of a maintenance issue.
The affected flights were from Delhi to Leh and Mumbai to Ahmedabad. Passengers eventually travelled on alternate aircraft after delays of four and six hours.
Flight AI 2479 from Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport to Leh, scheduled to depart at 4:55 am with over 100 passengers on board an A320 Neo aircraft, was the first to be hit. According to passengers, the aircraft had reached the runway for take-off when the captain announced a technical fault, forcing cancellation. The passengers were shifted to another aircraft, which finally departed at 8:05 am.
