Cong says with govt, will sign impeachment notice against Justice Varma
July 08, 2025
|The Morning Standard
AFTER the government indicated that it would move ahead with the impeachment motion against Allahabad High Court Justice Yashwant Varma, sources in the Congress said that the party would sign the impeachment notice.

Union Minister Kiren Rijiju stated last Thursday that the main opposition parties had given their in-principle approval to support the motion during the monsoon session, scheduled from July 21 to August 21. He said the process of collecting signatures could begin. He, however, stated that the government is yet to decide whether the motion will be brought in the Lok Sabha or Rajya Sabha.
