CM's options for immediate relief bleak
March 27, 2024
|The Morning Standard
LEGAL experts believe that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's prospects for immediate relief appear bleak regarding his challenge against his arrest and remand in the Delhi Excise Policy scam case.
The possibility of immediate relief for Kejriwal from the courts doesn't seem likely at present. His legal team needs to explore alternative avenues," former Additional Solicitor General (ASG) and senior Supreme Court lawyer K C Kaushik told this newspaper.
"Although Delhi HC Judge Justice Swarna Kanta Sharma is scheduled to hear Kejriwal's plea challenging his arrest by the ED and subsequent remand tomorrow, it's unlikely he will receive relief then, considering the recent rejection of his plea by the same court," he added.
