Centre Informs HC Of Legal Aid To Indians On Death Row In Indonesia

The Central government on Tuesday told the Delhi HC that the Indian embassy in Indonesia is providing legal and other assistance to three Indian men who have been sentenced to death in that country.
Appearing before Justice Sachin Datta, the Centre's lawyer assured the court that the embassy had already taken steps and would continue to support the convicts. The HC had earlier directed the Indian consulate to ensure that the three men receive proper legal help to challenge their conviction. The court was hearing a plea filed by the wives of the three men, Raju Muthukumaran, Selvadurai Dinakaran, and Govindasamy Vimalkandhan, all from Tamil Nadu.
