CDS Modernisation Pitch: 'Tomorrow's Tech Needed to Fight Today's Battles'

CHIEF of Defence Staff (CDS) General Anil Chauhan on Wednesday stressed the need for modernisation and indigenisation of niche technologies, asserting that "dependence on foreign technology weakens preparedness".
The CDS said, "Yesterday's weapons can't win today's wars. Tomorrow's technology is needed to fight today's battles. Can't rely on imported niche tech for our missions as it limits our ability to scale up production, and results in a shortfall of critical spares for sustenance and round-the-clock availability."
