Cabinet nod to rail and road projects each costing a total of over 6K cr in poll-bound Bihar

THE Union Cabinet on Wednesday cleared several major proposals, including a 69,725-crore package to revive the country's shipbuilding and maritime sector, two infrastructure projects in poll-bound Bihar, expansion of medical education, a productivity bonus for railway employees, and a new capacity-building scheme for scientific institutions.
Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw informed that the shipbuilding package has a four-pillar approach to strengthen domestic capacity, improve long-term financing, develop greenfield and brownfield shipyards, enhance technical skills, and implement policy and taxation reforms that can create a modern maritime ecosystem.
