₹ hits fresh low of 90.47/$; closes 0.4% down at 90.36

THE rupee, which has been the worst performing currency in Asia this year, has hit a fresh record low of 90.47 against dollar on Thursday, breaching 90-mark for second time within 10 days.
The rupee closed at 90.36, down 0.4% on Thursday after the RBI intervention. The currency on December 4 closed at 90.42, which is till now the worst performance. The freefall of the currency is due to the foreign institutional investors outflow and the lack of clarity on trade deal with the US.
