The Mercury

"AND, hast thou slain the Jabberwock? Come to my arms, my beamish boy! O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!" He chortled in his joy.

THE Boks' performance against the All Blacks last Saturday brought to mind the lines of delirious joy by Lewis Carroll in his nonsense poem, Jabberwocky.

Yes, in the first 10 minutes of the first half you could sense that the All Blacks’ Jabberwock was doomed and so it was, resoundingly so.

Calloo! Callay! Argentina lies ahead. The Jabberwocks are lining up. Erewego, erewego, erewego!

Damsels overjoyed

The joy of the damsels of Morningside was unrestrained as they lined up in the Pub with No Name to supply knicker elastic for the manufacture of catapults for the time-honoured celebratory feu de joie in which the streetlights are shot out.

Crash!

Tinkle, tinkle! Happy days are here again!

No joy here
