WHAT was this? Delayed retribution for Pearl Harbour? I don't think I've ever witnessed a rugby match with anything like the scoreline of last Saturday's excursion of the Boks against Japan. But let's see it as a buildup to the tough stuff coming.

I also watched the women's cricket final, South Africa against India for the championship in that magnificent packed stadium in Bombay. This had its moments as our Proteas struggled all afternoon to penetrate a seemingly impenetrable offside field setting, to which the Indian gals bowled with assiduous accuracy.
There were times when it looked as if our gals were getting there - especially two magnificent sixes into the grandstand - but 'twas not to be.
India are now the women's champs and deservedly so. It makes a refreshing change from England or Australia.
