Thiaw has revealed how Newcastle United stars have opted to block out the noise surrounding St James’ Park after their uncertain winter period.The German international put the lid on the 2-0 win over Crystal Palace with his first goal in front of the Gallowgate End. And now he is setting his sights on Leeds who head to Tyneside tomorrow night when another Toon victory could propel Eddie Howe's side into the top five.
That would be a remarkable feat given some of the rumblings around Newcastle at the end of 2025 when a defeat at Sunderland plus the loss at Man United resulted in some alarm bells from the fanbase.
Before the win over Palace, the club approved a pre-match display of the word “United” at the Gallowgate End to push for solidarity going into the new year.
