COLOURFUL bunting fluttered, vintage costumes were modelled, and war time stories were shared at an attraction as part of its VE Day 80 celebrations.
Cresswell Pele Tower in Northumberland paid a heartwarming tribute to the spirit and resilience of those who lived through the 1940s at an event held on Sunday.
The afternoon was filled with joyous moments that brought history to life in a truly special way. Visitors were greeted by the sight of 1940s sweethearts, lovingly re-enacting that magical moment of reunion when men returned home from the war.
