THE North East is well known for the quality of its pubs and restaurants and they are an important part of our lives - as well as key employers for thousands of people.

So when two of our best chefs - who both have established Michelin-starred restaurants in the North East - highlight the extreme struggles their sector is facing, the Government has to listen.
