STAFF at a high school in Northumberland have been striking over pupil behaviour measures, with more action promised next week.

- OWEN YOUNGER

Teachers walked out at Haydon Bridge High School on Wednesday morning, with unions left unsatisfied by the school's actions. Both groups, the National Education Union (NEU) and The Teacher's Union (NASUWT), have stated that the walkout is due to what they see as a 'lack of progress' on measures to crackdown on 'disruptive' pupil behaviour.

With the situation as it is at the moment, the action on Tuesday and Wednesday of this week will be followed by further strikes on Tuesday, December 16, Wednesday, December 17, and Thursday, December 18.
