Police officers assaulted by woman being arrested

TWO police officers were injured outside one pub as they arrested a woman after an alleged assault at another.

Police were called to the Spring Gardens pub in North Shields after the first alleged incident on Monday evening, but the suspect had already left the scene.
She was then found near The Alexandra pub, on the town’s Queen Alexandra Road. The woman, who is in her 40s, was arrested on suspicion of assault.
