Plenty of positives for Le Bris in battling loss

A GOAL from Sporting CP winger Francisco Trincao condemned Sunderland to their first defeat of preseason - but there was plenty to enthuse over for Black Cats head coach Regis Le Bris.

The former Lorient boss handed starts to four of his summer signings and former Stoke City goalkeeper Bloody Nna Noukeu and Academy of Light product Harrison Jones were also named in the starting eleven.

The Portuguese champions took 10 minutes to find a way beyond the Black Cats as Danish striker Conrad Harder beat the offside trap before setting up former Wolves winger Trincao to fire home.
