MAYOR'S NARROW VICTORY TRIGGERS CONTEST FOR VACANT SEAT

FOLLOWING Mayor Karen Clark's narrow election victory last week, her seat in the ward of Longbenton and Benton has now become vacant.

Now Ms Clark has secured her position by just 444 votes last week, North Tyneside Council has announced her former council seat is now unoccupied. Ms Clark represented the then-ward of Longbenton from 2015 to 2023 and was re-elected to the reorganised ward of Longebenton and Benton in 2024.
