Mags weigh up Ekitike alternatives

THE Newcastle United transfer agenda has had more twists and turns than Alton Towers this last week, and yet here we are with nothing much changed.

Hugo Ekitike looks destined for Liverpool, while talks over extending Alexander Isak’s contract continue.

While it would have been incredible to have both, I'm sure most United fans would rather the Swede stayed on Tyneside than see him depart for Anfield, even if it did mean Ekitike in black-and-white.

While they didn't meet Eintracht Frankfurt's asking price, it was significant that the Magpies were serious in their efforts to bring Ekitike to the Premier League.
