Huge fee needed to land young Cats star

The 17-year-old Hebburn-born Sunderland midfielder, who has come up through the ranks of the youth set-up since he was in primary school, broke into the first team in January 2023 at the age of just 15.

He has been attracting plenty of interest and it's no surprise given his brilliant performances last season.

The club's sporting director Kristjaan Speakman and the Sunderland hierarchy have taken steps to ensure Rigg doesn't follow Jobe Bellingham through the exit door.
