Hotel plan for old tram shed refused

A DEVELOPER has been denied permission to transform a disused tram shed in Newcastle's West End into an aparthotel.

Councillors voted down plans to regenerate the former Wingrove depot of the Newcastle Corporation Tramways, in Westgate Road.

The building dates back to 1903 and is now largely vacant.
