HIGH-PROFILE, HIGH-PRICE OPTION IS SHOWING INTENT
YOU always got the sense this would be a transformational summer for Newcastle United as the PSR shackles were loosened following three windows of limited investment.
The Magpies have already moved for £55m man Anthony Elanga and now switch their attention to a different style of attacking player.
Now we have the latest instalment of Eddie Howe's side being linked with a move for Hugo Ekitike. At 23 years old and with a release clause of £86m, it would be a huge statement of intent should a deal materialise.
Even the fact United are considering a purchase of that magnitude is an exciting development after recent frustration in the market, especially given Newcastle do not want to lose Alexander Isak this summer.
