Complaints to financial services up by 3.6%

FINANCIAL services firms paid out £283m in redress when dealing with complaints in the first half of this year, according to figures from the City regulator.
-
The redress total jumped by a fifth (20.0%) compared with £236m paid out in the second half of 2024.
Financial services firms received 1.85m complaints in the first half of this year, the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) said, with rises in gripes relating to banking and credit cards, investments and pensions.
