Black Cats are ready for big game, says striker

ELIEZER Mayenda has reflected on his season so far as he aims to spearhead Sunderland’s bid to reach the Championship play-off final and beyond.

The striker has taken over the slot as the Black Cats No 1 hitman after Wilson Isidor’s dramatic tail-off in form, having not scored in his last 13 matches.
Ahead of the trip to Coventry City on Friday for the semi-final first leg, Mayenda said: "This season has been a really good one for me personally. I've made a strong contribution to the team, but it’s always been a collective effort.
"My team-mates have helped me improve, and that’s come from hard work on the training pitch - it’s not just luck.
