A sprinkle of glory with award for gritter driver

FOR True Grit see John Wayne and Jeff Bridges who starred in the classic Western film of the same name.

Wayne played Marshal Rooster Cogburn in the 1969 film and Bridges took the role in the 2010 remake by the Coen Brothers.
Now a new name has been added to the True Grit list - Durham County Council's Gary Lawson.
The council gritter driver, who this year marked 40 years of service, is celebrating after being officially named the first ever Gritter Driver of the Year at this year’s first ever Grit and Glory awards.
Gary Lawson, aged 62 from Crook, was recognised for his dedication to winter maintenance, his unwavering commitment to public safety, and his exceptional support for colleagues and communities across County Durham.
